Undetected Gum Disease Can Be Dangerous
|
We’ve all heard that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, but when it comes to gum disease, prevention may be worth even more. After all, wouldn’t you rather prevent a crisis than manage one? And believe it or not, gum disease is at crisis levels, even here in Waipahu. It doesn’t make the nightly news, but more than 50 percent of people in the Waipahu area don’t visit a dentist regularly. Even worse, of that 50 percent of the population, 80 percent have some degree of gum or bone disease. Could you be among those statistics? The answer is Dr. Greg Hurtado and the professional dental staff at HURTADO DENTAL, INC. They know how important good oral health is, and they have the experience to help detect and, if necessary, treat gum disease. Seeing Dr. Hurtado on a regular schedule is the best ounce of prevention around. Call HURTADO DENTAL, INC today at (888) 475-3936 to find out how we can help you prevent and treat gum disease. Your teeth and gums will thank you! |
How old is your toothbrush? Replace your toothbrush every 3 or 4 months, or sooner if the bristles are frayed. A worn toothbrush won't do a good job of cleaning your teeth. Don't Forget to Floss! Clean between teeth daily with floss or an interdental cleaner. Decay-causing bacteria can hide between teeth where toothbrush bristles can't reach. Flossing helps remove plaque and food particles from between teeth and under the gum line. Visit Our Office Regularly! Take good care of your smile. Remember to visit regularly for professional cleanings and oral exams. |
